Well, an update on the situation. Flew into Sacramento just fine, however, the van has a fuel leak and an overheating problem. So probably not a good idea to drive it across the desert in the middle of summer. Could be fun though right?
I'm back to my original idea. I'm currently on Amtrak headed down to San Luis Obispo because I bought the ticket and I am on vacation after all, so why not?
My current opinions via Facebook Marketplace are a 2008 Sienna, 2006 Toyota Tundra, 2004 Lexus GX470, or a 2003 Honda Element (5sp). Worst case is that I fly back home a bit earlier than I was hoping.
I'm still having a good time and this is why I came out early. Do it for the story right?
